On the remote chance you are not attending JAW!
The Haslemere Classic Car show & tour is fast becoming a ‘must’ in the calendar. In 2011 bring along your pre-1973 classic and join in the fun on the green.
The day will be in two parts, a pre-booked tour will leave from Lion Green at 10am and follow a relaxed drive through beautiful countryside with a stop at a place of interest. Tour cars will arrive back at lunchtime to be joined by the show entries to create a spectacle on the green.
Last year there were more than 120 cars on show, representing most major marques, from a 1911 Renault to early 70’s sports cars and everything in-between. It is hoped that people will get in the spirit of the event with a ‘Best Dressed’ car and driver award, being presented by Haslemere Wardrobe and a ‘People’s Choice’ prize. In the ‘Car arena’ there will be stalls of local produce, crafts and classic car related goods.
This year the event is taking place alongside ‘LionFest’ - the new Haslemere Fringe Festival and in the ‘Festival arena’ there will be music, comedy, vintage fashion shows, children’s activities, stalls, food and a licensed bar - something for all the family to enjoy.
The tour will cost £10 for the driver and £5 per additional adult to include the route, breakfast rolls and hot drink, a tour plaque and a charity donation. Children under 14 can come on the tour for free but if they require breakfast there will be a charge of £3 per head. As numbers for the tour will be limited, please enter early.
Show entry is free but all cars pre-registering for the event will be entitled to 2 free passes to the ‘Festival Arena’ (normal charge £2.50 adult/£1 child under 16).
