CAD Designer Within The Club?

Is there anyone in the club who can take on CAD Design work? I found someone about a year ago who took on a project to design and print models of the CD Bradford in 1/43 scale. He successfully created some test prints of the saloon and was part way through with the pick up truck. However that stalle...

Re: CD Saloon

The images are just to show what a change of colour of the saloon and the CD pick up may have looked like if they had gone into production. Replies from others have been interesting, especially from New Zealand. There is no way it would have been able to compete with the big boys such as Ford for ex...

Re: CD Saloon

I wonder why you compare the CD saloon to the 100E, it was a much larger car with dimensions almost identical to the Mk 1 Consul. The saloon was a one off, Briggs wanted more than double the cost of the van to produce it. So Jowett built it in the Experimental Dept with i assume the CD front end tha...

Re: Sid Bradford NZ Photos of CD11 and CD18

David, I think you could be confusing the CD saloon with the Ferguson R4 saloon RPE 4 which is there. Several were built but not for production. It does have a similar scuttle or cowl design to the CD however. If you are a club member, there is an article in the By Jupiter Magazine Archive, 2007-2 p...

Re: Sid Bradford NZ Photos of CD11 and CD18

David, Thanks for your reply but as far as i know the CD saloon in Turquoise blue metallic was scrapped back in late 1963 at or just after Jowett Engineering at Beckers Mill Howden Clough ceased trading. You maybe interested to know that Bob Wales who was a former employee mentioned to me that it wa...

Re: Sid Bradford NZ Photos of CD11 and CD18

Some Briggs paperwork i have, a letter dated 14 Oct 53 lists five utilities and five vans were built but also on 15 Oct 53 another letter where a further van requ...

Apart from the saloon were the CD Bradford bodies built by Briggs at Dagenham or Doncaster as the attached letter suggests?

Re: Sid Bradford NZ Photos of CD11 and CD18

Hi James, Sid mentioned that your father had a lot of paperwork and photos and had an excellent memory of all things Vintage and Bradford. Also that he remembered seeing the other i.o.e. engined CD15 which crashed or was dumped in the central part of the North Island in the 1950s. Do you remember or...

Sid Bradford NZ Photos of CD11 and CD18

I have been sending and receiving photos and info on the CD Bradfords with Sid Bradford who has been very helpful with dimensions and photos of CD11 when he owned it. Yesterday he sent some more including an under bonnet picture of CD18 that i have never seen before. It is clear from the colour of t...

Re: Cd bradford

There were two Javelins with a part perspex roof. G Mitchell bought the second one FKW 318 in 1966 and left it in a field. It gradually rotted away and after his death in 2019 a few parts were saved. I don't know what happened to the first car FKU 372 but someone more knowledgeable than me might be ...
