Re: NEW FULL-HYDRAULIC WHEEL CYLINDERS

Chris, do you admit you got it wrong that Mike did not contact JCS first before posting on JT? Has the problem with the County supplier to JCS been fixed such that modifications to the innards are no longer required? How many of the inappropriate County cylinders are in circulation, not only those s...

Re: Javelin clutch noise - clashing?

Quite common. The noise is caused by the fingers that depress the clutch pressure plate springs hitting the friction pad springs. This is either caused by incorrect friction plate or incorrect adjustment. Try lengthening the clutch rod. Some have put stops under the clutch pedal to prevent excessive...

Re: NEW FULL-HYDRAULIC WHEEL CYLINDERS

Chris, Please do not make this personal. There is no intention of critiscising the service volunteers provide but Mike and I think it is important to make other members aware of issues with brake components available on the market, not just from JCS. See below the response received from Paul Beaumon...

Getting the 3 Jowett's ready

Since returning from NZ and Aus I have had to check out and exercise Amy's Javelin and Jupiter and my Jupiter. They were all on axle stands for their long lay up so we're started on them so as to check that engine and brake functioned correctly. They were then taken for some exercise. No problem wit...

Members' maps

Whilst I was in NZ, Google changed the Google Map interface causing the Members Maps for JCC, JCCA and JCCNZ to fail. It has taking me a day to learn how to program the new interface so that now the maps are working properly. If you are a member you should see buttons to access them in the Member Se...

Home

Well Heathrow did not disappoint. All the immigration e gates had died but at least the queue was short for the personal ones. But then had to wait at the baggage belt for over two hours before BA eventually found my bag sitting at the wrong carousel. No jet lag so went out for a curry with my jazz ...

Re: Nuts and Bolts

I mainly use https://www.namrick.co.uk/acatalog/Home ... ts__1.html

But have also bought up end of line and old stocks from other suppliers .

Note JCS and JCC NZ do have stocks of most and think many are original.

On the last leg

I have savoured the amex airport lounges of Melbourne, Auckland and now LAX. In LAX I have had a most welcome shower, tasted again their superb Bloody Mary and just asked for an Amaretto but did not expect a tumbler full. 20240502_175048.jpg Must make sure I do not miss boarding. I might have met Sc...

Bye bye Aus

After an evening listening to Bruce Springsteen and a few glasses of wine plus some Galway port we planned a delayed start to my trip to Melbourne allowing me to drive the XJS and the Model T plus a trip to the Stick Shed and Machinery Museum where we had a personal guide tour. We also saw some of t...

I think the issue is shipping cost to USA versus local manufacture.

Way home.

Long drive from Barmera to Horsham to Peter and Lorraine Ryan via Servicetown railway station. Yet another example of Australia being 7 states not one country. They had a station built on a disputed border to swap trains on two different gauges. There was even a customs post charging entry into Vict...

Re: NZ NATIONAL RALLY 2024 March 22-25

The CDr3 was created by Vic Morrison. There are a few articles on it. I have driven it and there should be some pics in my previous NZ rally adventure. https://jowett.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=27947#p27947 https://jowett.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=27942#p27942 I used the Search Archive button on the ...
