Re: Front Shock Absorbers
I was talking to Neil Moore in New Zealand last night and he said that Bill Lock has suitable Javelin front shock absorbers. The NZ would would probably be too expensive in the UK due to postage and UK import duties.

Re: Front Shock Absorbers
I have been looking at the Jowett Car Club publication, "Technical Information for The Javelin" which I believe was produced by the East Anglia Section. I have issue # 5 dated 28/04/2002. I downloaded it from the JOC site. In that is a great detail on everything, and it includes the Servic...

Re: Front Shock Absorbers
If you have the short stubby shock absorbers, then I would guess that they are the same as mine were. The only difference with the new ones is that I had to remove the lower base, but was able to mount the shocks them using existing bolt holes. Neil Moore is my main contact in New Zealand and is is ...

Re: Front Shock Absorbers
What year is your Javelin? I have a 1950 model, with the 1950 Parts book and the number there is 52584. I replaced my front shock absorbers from the New Zealand JOC parts people. The bottom mounting was different, but they supplied easy to do instructions.

Re: original car with original engine
I replied to this last week, but my message has never shown up. I own a 1950 Jowett Javelin De Luxe (Left Hand Drive), and I still have the original engine # 10010 which matches the chassis number. At present it has another engine installed, because I acquired a barn-find engine, had it rebuilt, and...

Re: Rear Light Bulbs
I bought a type 1157, but it had offset pins whereas my 1950 Javelin doesn't. I presume that we are supposed to guess which way round the bulb goes in! The store then found ones with parallel pins, which fitted. Their number is 1176.

Rear Light Bulbs
I need to get a new rear light/brake bulb for my 1950 Javelin Deluxe. The old bulb is described as a 12v 21/5W. Is there a Lucas reference number for this? The Parts List only has a Jowett number. Perhaps I could change to LED bulbs. Does any one have a make and reference of the equivalent bulb?
