Re: Strange behaviour!

At the time of writing, there is no requirement for ethanol to be included in super unleaded (97/99) grade petrol, so if you're driving a cherished older vehicle (or putting one into long term car storage), consider a switch to the UK's only ethanol-free fuels, Esso Synergy Supreme+ Unleaded 97 and ...

Re: Problems Setting Up the Gear Linkage!

Harry, I had similar problem way back, it turned out to be the ‘reverse gear’ selector fork worn where it makes contact
with the reverse gear. I had it filled with Braze & dressed back to standard.
I remember someone else also had the same issue causing jumping out of reverse.

Re: Javelin thermostat

Barry, if you test your thermostat as suggested, I would check at what temperature it opens, it should be 75 c. On the bellows thermostat the opening temperature is often stamped on it, but it is worth checking for correct operating temperature before fitting. If your thermostat opens at 88 c that i...

Re: Massive Coolant Flooding - Cylinders And Sump

Hello all when a cylinder head is removed & the liner protrusion found to be reduced to .004 due to compression of copper liner seal & shims, do the liners then have to be removed & reset .006 to .008 protrusion using New Zealand gasket. If the head gasket was fitted & the liners lef...

Re: Deluxe bumpers

I have a 1954 Standard Javelin, it was fitted with deluxe bumpers. I am told that at times Jowett would do this if it was all they had, more especially in the weeks before closure. Here is Jowetts idea for the 1954 Javelin, the bumper treatment Is different with a nice clean line, no over-riders. I ...

For instance, the door trim panels for the doors are different for each side, however, the parts listing shows two-off, indicating that the one panel will suit b...
